Women In Media Congratulate Vice Pesident Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agymang
Alliance for Women in Media, Africa was honored to pay a courtesy call on the Vice President, Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang at her office in Cantonments, to congratulate her on her historic achievement as Ghana’s First Female Vice President.
During our engaging meeting, our Convenor Mercy C. Adjabeng highlighted some of the challenges Women in media and other related disciplines face, including safety risks and violence, gender discrimination, poor workplace conditions and online harassment. We also committed to support her office to champion the cause of women to ensure that her footprints in the office make history.
The Vice-President shared encouraging words of solidarity, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and supporting women who break barriers. Drawing from her own experience as the first female Vice-Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast, she noted that “when we come together and exchange lessons, we can achieve much.” Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang reaffirmed her commitment to advancing women’s interests among many others.
We took the opportunity to present the Vice President with her portrait which symbolizes her trailblazing achievement.
