Athletes from the host nation Ghana managed to secure semi-final spots in the men’s evening events. Ghana’s Blessed Owusu of St. Hubert Seminary SHS came third in his heat in the 400 meters.
Ghana’s fastest man Abdul-Rasheed Saminu, Athletics team captain Joseph Paul Amoah, and compatriot Edwin Gadayi all picked up a spot ahead of the men’s 100m semis on Wednesday.
